Striving Prayer (Romans 15:30)
Prayer is striving together with others and for others. The idea of striving implies a struggle, like a wrestling match. I remember Jacob when he wrestled with a man (perhaps an angel of the Lord in Genesis:32:24-27). He did not let go of the man until he blessed him. When we pray, we seek God to bless us also. Moreover, there are times when we need to pray with others because "striving" also connotes a sense of teamwork. Prayer is both intercessory (on behalf of others) and corporate. Let us keep striving in our prayers.
