Confidence in the Midst of Conflict (Psalm 27)
David had found that the person who lives his life daily in the presence of God, gazing upon His beauty, has no need to fear (1-6). He asked the Lord for mercy and expressed confidence that such mercy would always be there, even if his own parents should abandon him (7-10). He asked for guidance and deliverance and encouraged himself to be patient and courageous, knowing that God would always help him (11-14).
When you have fears, whatever they may be, remember that the LORD is your light, your salvation, and the strength of your life. Be confident in the LORD always. Sing praises unto Him. Seek His counsel and instruction. Believe that you will see the goodness of the LORD in the here and now. Lastly, and I believe this is the most difficult one, wait on Him. I don't mean that you stay passive, expecting the LORD's work upon your life. When we wait, we continue praying and serving Him in the ministry He has called us into.
